A prayer for today: 20p

I cry out to you, Lord: Come to me—quickly! Listen to my voice when I cry out to you! Let my prayer stand before you like incense; let my uplifted hands be like the evening offering.1

Lord, open my lips and my mouth will proclaim your praise.2
Let my whole being bless the Lord and never forget all his good deeds:
how God forgives all your sins,
heals all your sickness,
saves your life from the pit,
crowns you with faithful love and compassion,
and satisfies you with plenty of good things so that your youth is made fresh like an eagle’s.3
But can anyone know what they’ve accidentally done wrong? Clear me of any unknown sin and save your servant from willful sins. Don’t let them rule me. Then I’ll be completely blameless; I’ll be innocent of great wrongdoing.4

Have mercy on me, God, according to your faithful love! Wipe away my wrongdoings according to your great compassion! Wash me completely clean of my guilt; purify me from my sin! Because I know my wrongdoings, my sin is always right in front of me.5

Be my rock of refuge where I can always escape.6

Then I will sing praises to your name forever, and I will do what I promised every single day.7

I will lie down and fall asleep in peace because you alone, Lord, let me live in safety.8 Amen.
