A prayer for today: 18a

O God whose eternal presence is hidden behind the veil of nature, informs our minds, and was made flesh in Jesus Christ our Lord, I thank you that He has left me an example to that I could follow in His steps.

Jesus Christ said, Stop collecting treasures for your own benefit on earth, instead, collect treasures for yourselves in heaven.[1]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, Desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness.[2]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, Do good, and lend expecting nothing in return.[3]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, Love your enemies.[4]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, Stay alert and pray so that you won’t give in to temptation. [5]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, Don’t be afraid; just keep trusting.[6]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, I assure you that if you don’t turn your lives around and become like this little child, you will definitely not enter the kingdom of heaven. [7]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Jesus Christ said, Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.[8]
O God, incline my heart to follow in this way.

Our Father who is in heaven, uphold the holiness of your name. Bring in your kingdom so that your will is done on earth as it’s done in heaven. Give us the bread we need for today. Forgive us for the ways we have wronged you, just as we also forgive those who have wronged us. And don’t lead us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.[9]
