A Gift for a Friend

The idea for this centerpiece came just in time from Eat.Sleep.Make. It's a Mother's Day gift  for a dear friend.

I covered a wooden box and the cute bird with scrapbook paper using Mod Podge and painted the edges, peg and inside of the box. Then I applied the hexagons that I had cut out from sticker paper using my Silhouette SD. After coating (lightly) the box and the bird with Mod Podge and letting it dry, I used hot glue to attach the bird.
I inserted a moss-covered ball I had purchased at Michael's and used the end of a paintbrush to poke holes into which I placed the flowers.  The leaves were attached with hot glue.

I am really happy with this arrangement.  It's very "spring" and "Mother's Day"!
